Ok, I’m a day late! Yesterday was BC Book Day, but, you can still pick up one of these awesome BC books by some of my favourite local authors at your library or from your Independent Bookstore today and every day. Featured here are 4 books I love. First up is a simply gorgeous counting book for the very young by Lucky Budd and Henry Roy Vickers, Hello Humpback.Next is my absolute favourite west coast ABC book, West Coast Wild by Deborah Hodge which is full of interesting coastal tidbits and is beautifully illustrated by Karen Reczuch. (I reviewed it a few years back in Hakai Magazine, a world-class online publication that explores science, society, & the environment, highlights coastal life, & is free!) The next two books are middle grade novels from two of BC’s best kid’s book authors, Linda Bailey & Polly Horvath. Everything on a Waffle & The Tiny Hero of Ferny Creek Library are each quirky, funny & totally engaging.

Happy BC reading!
